Crofton High School's Music Department consists of over 300 musicians in various classes and programs across band, chorus, marching band and orchestra. Our goal as the Music Boosters is to support the music teachers and students by raising funds to financially assist the department; offering additional opportunities for students to perform and grow as musicians; and helping to develop a spirit of friendship and camaraderie through Music Booster sponsored service opportunities and special events.

Your tax deductible donation helps build Crofton High's music library for our band, chorus and orchestra programs. Each piece of music that an ensemble plays costs between $50 and $100. Most ensembles perform four to six pieces per concert, so those expenses add up, especially for a newer high school with a smaller inventory of past music to choose from.

Tri-M at Crofton High School
What is Tri-M? The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. Tri-M is the only music honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Tri-M recognizes students that go above and beyond both academically and musically.
What are the Membership Requirements? Candidates must be enrolled in a school sponsored music ensemble and/or class for at least one semester of the current school year. Candidates must have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA in music classes, with at least a 2.5 GPA in other academic subjects. Candidates must also display good character, leadership and service to the Crofton High music community. Applications are typically accepted in the late winter/early spring of each school year.

Band: one student received the prestigious Kovner Fellowship at The Juilliard School; two students selected for All-County Big Band; seven students selected for All-County High School Band
CCMB (Marching Band): placed third at States in the 4A Division and won "Best Color Guard"
Chorus: three students selected for All-State Chorus; one student selected for All-State Junior Chorus; 10 students selected for All-County Chorus; Songbirds and Cacophony select choirs chosen to attend The University of Maryland Choir Invitational
Orchestra: three students selected for All-State Orchestra; one student selected for All-State Junior Orchestra; 17 students selected for All-County Orchestra

Building the School Music Library: Purchasing New Sheet Music to Play and Sing
Hospitality: Meals for Festival Judges and the Cardinal Classic Adjudicators; Meals for CCMB During Band Camp and Friday Night Home Football Games; End-of-Year Banquet
Transportation: Provide Transportation (Buses, CCMB Trailer) for Students to Have Off-Site Musical Experiences
