Dr. Diana Curtis has worked in music education for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she has been a Strings Specialist for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, has maintained a private music studio, and has served as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator in Maryland and Pennsylvania. She was a Lecturer in Music for Applied Cello lessons at Messiah College, and has taught string pedagogy courses at both The Catholic University of America and Messiah College.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Curtis maintains an active career as a freelance musician. She has performed with the Annapolis Symphony, the Maryland Symphony, the Harrisburg Symphony, and the York Symphony, and is frequently a guest performer in recitals and concerts around the DC and Baltimore area. She is currently principal cellist of the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra in Annapolis, MD, and has served as principal cellist with the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra and the Shippensburg Summer Festival Orchestra. She also regularly performs with Chesapeake Strings and Canterbury Strings.

When not performing or teaching, Dr. Curtis likes to stay active. She is an exercise enthusiast and loves being outdoors. Her favorite activities are running to the local park with her husband and son, hiking in county and state parks, and daily walks with her two Shiba Inus, Rosie and Tessa. She enjoys cooking, loves discovering new recipes to try, and tends to clean whenever she realizes that she is standing still. 

Dr. Curtis received her B.M. in Music Education and Music Performance from West Virginia University and her M.M. and D.M.A. in Music Performance from the Catholic University of America.
